The diagnosis that
made everything click.
I was 19 when I found out my brain was wired differently. Not broken. Not less. Just — different.
Growing up, I never had a word for it. I just knew conversations took more energy than they seemed to for everyone else. That I rehearsed things in my head before I said them. That some days, being around people felt like running a marathon I didn't sign up for.
"Getting diagnosed didn't change who I was. It just gave me language for it."
I started sharing that on TikTok and a community showed up. Turns out a lot of us were out here feeling the same things and thinking we were the only ones. AUTASTIC started because explaining yourself gets exhausting.
